Stocks were mostly rising on Friday. The surprisingly strong jobs report pointed to a more aggressive Federal Reserve, but Amazon’s gain powered the Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 higher.
In afternoon trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 44 points, or 0.1%, while the S&P 500 was up 0.8%, and the Nasdaq Composite rose 1.7%.
