Major U.S. stock indexes wavered as major central banks took steps to tighten monetary policy.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average added around 149 points, or roughly 0.4%, Thursday. The S&P 500 lost around 0.2%. The Nasdaq Composite shed 1.6% as tech stocks lagged behind the broader market.
