Eat’n Park restaurant in Squirrel Hill is closing

The Eat’n Park restaurant in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood will be closed permanently after more than 40 years.Watch the report in the video player above.The last day for the restaurant on Murray Avenue will be Jan. 24, with the doors set to close for good at 5 p.m., Eat’n Park spokesperson Courtney Caprara said in a statement.No reason was given for the closure, which the statement described as a “difficult decision” for Eat’n Park.”We are grateful to our team members for creating smiles for our friends and neighbors in the Squirrel Hill community for the past 45 years,” the statement said. “All team members will be offered continuous employment within Eat’n Park Hospitality Group. To our guests in the Squirrel Hill community – whether you started your day with us, ended your evening with us, or visited anytime in between, we are grateful you chose Eat’n Park.”Just one block away, Pamela’s Diner recently closed its doors on Murray Avenue. The diner’s owners said COVID-19 had a big impact on their business, and a lot of longtime employees had either left or retired.Related coverage:
