Buc-ee’s, a gas station chain based in Texas, is bringing a massive new store to Missouri. The chain plans to open a new 100 pump and 53,000-square-foot location in the Show-Me State. The Springfield City Council approved plans on Monday for the new location to be built. The store will be going up near I-44 close to the Lake of the Ozarks, according to the Springfield News-Leader.The gas station is also known for its incredibly clean restrooms. A welcome sign for anyone making a trip down to the Ozarks. “If you’ve been to Buc-ee’s, you may already know that this friendly neighbor along the highways has the cleanest restrooms in America. In 2012, Cintas ran a nationwide restroom contest and made it official!” Buc-ee’s touts on their website. The News-Leader says the chain hopes to break ground and finish construction by 2023. Building the facility will be no small task, especially considering the immense size of the planned travel center. The Chain currently has over 40 locations and the world records for the both the largest convenience store and the longest carwash. Each record clocking in at 66,335 square feet and 255 feet of conveyor respectively. It’s safe to say the gas station will almost be more of a tourist attraction than a pit stop. The only question now, how long will it be before a Buc-ee’s makes its way farther north?
