The stock market was gaining on Wednesday, as bond yields finally dipped, and investors focused on earnings.
In afternoon trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 88 points, or 0.3%, after the index fell 543 points Tuesday. The S&P 500 rose 0.4%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite rose 0.5%. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq dropped 1.8% and 2.6% Tuesday, respectively.
