A Brand-New Girl Scout Cookie Is Being Released This Year, And After Tasting It, All I Have To Say Is “Whoa” – BuzzFeed

Honestly, they’re better than Thin Mints. I said what I said.

You can keep your “soup season.” I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I also don’t need your “tomato season” either. The only food season I care about is Girl Scout Cookie Season. And folks, WE MADE IT.

Girl Scout Cookie-lovers: We’ve been given a gift this year. The newest Girl Scout Cookie just dropped, and they’re called (drum roll, please…) — Adventurefuls.

They’re described as an “indulgent brownie-inspired cookie with caramel-flavored crème and a hint of sea salt.”

(In other words, sign me up immediately.)

I was able to snag of box of the newest Girl Scout Cookies for a good ol’ fashioned taste test, and not to give too much away too quickly…it was so worth it.

Since we eat with our eyes first, let’s start off with the way they look.

Here’s the promo image of the new Adventurefuls cookie in all its professionally-shot, styled-within-an-inch-of-its-life glory. TBH, 10 out of 10 would devour immediately.

Here’s what the cookies look like shot on my very, very standard iPhone camera. Truthfully, I grabbed the first cookie out of the box and didn’t dig for any particularly “pretty” ones.

I have to say, the chocolate drizzle might look TOTALLY different from the professional shot — the pro photo is giving lusciously-melted milk chocolate and mine is giving “gotta reuse that Thin Mints coating” — but I thought the rest looked pretty spot on, right?

Part of me was expecting the crème to be a touch softer based off of the promotional photos, but all in all, it could of been way worse.

Dark-as-night chocolate aside, not too shabby.

Next, it was time to FINALLY sink my teeth into one of ’em. Let me just give you the play-by-play of all of my thoughts.

My first (honest) impression: Absolutely NOT the texture I was prepared for…but it blew all my expectations out of the water.

The texture of the cookie itself was the most shocking thing to me, since I was expecting something a bit softer — they’re “brownie-inspired,” after all. Instead of something chewy and fudgy, these cookies are crisp and crumbly, almost like a thicker, less-snappy Thin Mint (sans the mint, of course).

To be clear, I’d give the texture an 11/10 if I could. They’re not the slightest bit dense, either, which makes them veryyyyy easy to not put down. Think of them as crumbly, chocolaty shortbread cookies with that signature chocolate coating, plus the perfect amount of crème to keep things exciting and unexpected.

Moving on to the flavor. Spoiler alert: 🔥

The chocolate itself is reminiscent of any other chocolate-flavored Girl Scout Cookie, but the addition of the caramel crème and that subtle (but perfect) hint of salt make these one of the best Girl Scout Cookies I’ve ever tasted. They’re second only to my first love, Thin Mints. (Duh.) I know that’s a very very VERY intense thing to say, but trust me, they’re that good.

In terms of the “caramel crème,” I don’t even know if I’d go as far as to call it legit caramel. It’s a bit more butterscotch-y in its nature, truth be told, but it’s really the perfect amount to not totally overpower the chocolaty elements. Super balanced, reaaaally delicious.

I guess the moral of the story here is: The elements of the cookie itself totally weren’t what I expected…but I don’t think I’d have it any other way. I’d happily devour box after box after box of these without thinking twice.

If you’re trying to get your lil’ cookie-loving hands on a box of Adventurefuls (or any other flavors) ASAP, you’ve got a lot of options this year.

• As always, you can do things the old-fashioned way and connect with your favorite Girl Scout (or bother your friends and colleagues until you finally find a small child who’s selling cookies this year — your choice).

• If you do know a local Girl Scout, they can also complete the sale 100% virtually via their Digital Cookie platform — and if you need to find a local council in your area, you can use the Council Finder.

• Starting February 18, you can find a booth or upcoming Girl Scout Cookie sale in your area by using the Cookie Finder site. Just select “Find Cookies!” and enter your zip code, and the internet will do the rest.

In a uniquely 2022 twist, Girl Scouts also partnered with DoorDash to launch on-demand Girl Scout Cookie delivery this year, available nationwide starting in February. In the select cities where it’s currently available, you can order all the cookies you could ever dream of through the app. If DoorDash ordering isn’t available in your area yet, rest assured you’ll have better luck next month).

If you’ve already tried Adventurefuls for yourself, I’m genuinely so curious to hear your thoughts. Also, what’s your favorite Girl Scout Cookie? LMK in the comments. ⬇️
