Biglaw Salary Hike Extends To One Of The Largest Firms In The World – Above the Law

Big pile of cash money and some gold coins

Big pile of cash money and some gold coinsThe march of Biglaw salary matches continues. Following Milbank’s decision to up associate base salaries, firms have started to join the party with raises here and there.

Moments ago, one of the largest firms in the world opted to join the prevailing scale. And with over 4,000 attorneys at this point and around $3.1B in revenue, DLA Piper is a behemoth by any measure.

DLA’s associates received some “verein good news” — Swiss business organization puns are too rare to pass up — today when the firm adopted the new scale. The firm employs a joint “Level/Year” compensation system, but the new scale boils down to this:

Class New Salary
Class of 2021 (Level 1) $215K
Class of 2020 (Level 1) $225K
Class of 2019 (Level 1) $250K
Class of 2018 (Level 2) $285K
Class of 2017 (Level 2) $325K
Class of 2016 (Level 2) $350K
Class of 2015 (Level 2) $370K
Class of 2014+ (Level 3) $385K

Associates will see these amounts retroactively applied in their January 28th payout.

Congratulations to all.
