One lucky lottery player in California won the $421 million Mega Millions jackpot, according to the lottery website.
Only one ticket matched all six balls in Friday night’s drawing.
The winning numbers drawn on Friday, Jan. 28, 2022 were: 3 – 16 – 25 – 44 – 55 and Megaball 13. The Megaplier was 3x.
The winner could also opt for the $289.5 million cash option
In addition to the jackpot winner, four other tickets won million-dollar prizes by matching all five white balls.

Tickets sold in Mississippi, New York, Texas won $1 million, while an Ohio ticket also had to the Megaplier to win $3 million.
Before Friday, the Mega Millions had not been hit since someone in Lake Havasu City, Arizona won a $108 million jackpot back in October.
The jackpot will now reset to $20 million with a cash option of $13.7 million for Tuesday’s drawing.

The Mega Millions costs $2 per ticket and is drawn twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Powerball jackpot is at $104 million with a cash option of $72.5 million for Saturday’s drawing, according to the Powerball website.
