Adidas titillates social media with ad for sports bra featuring womens bare breasts – New York Post

Adidas is declaring its right to bare boobs.

The apparel maker is rolling out a new line of female sports bras with an eye-popping ad that features 25 faceless women’s breasts.

“We believe women’s breasts in all shapes and sizes deserve support and comfort,” the company said in the ad, which is posted on Twitter.

“Which is why our new sports bra range contains 43 styles, so everyone can find the right fit for them.”

Naturally, the risqué ad generated buzz on social media. Some on Twitter accused of the company of posting the ad for shock value, while others said it was a celebration of women’s bodies.

“I’m all for boobies and positivity but like … what are they selling?” one Twitter user asked.

“Shouldn’t it at least show how their ‘body positive’ bras support all different kinds of boobies? Or is this just another shock ad designed only to generate revenue by using women’s bodies? exhausting.”

Another Twitter user wondered: “Will you show us penises too (circumcised and uncircumcised) of different shapes and sizes for the pant/boxer set?”

“It’s just a REALLY good thing I didn’t scroll by this while in an office setting,” another Twitter user wrote.

“And, yes, I believe the human body is beautiful, it doesn’t mean I need or want to see the parts meant for their husbands and babies.”

A supporter of the ad tweeted: “As a father of two daughters that played sports this is way overdue. Thank you. A lot of girls give up sports because they can’t find the right fit to stay comfortable.”

WFAN radio host Craig Carton joked: “hmmm – i’ve been a nike guy my whole life but now i may reconsider.”

The Post has sought comment from Adidas.

Shares of Adidas were up by around 2% near the close of trading on Wall Street on Wednesday.
