On cam: 400 gallons of gas stolen from High Point station – WRAL News

— Around 400 gallons of gas were stolen from the Bizzy Bee Grocery gas station on North Main Street in High Point Monday night.

After the store closed at 10 p.m., a driver pulled up to the pump. Surveillance video showed the driver pointing a remote control-like object at a pump. The driver then pumped their own gas before directing more cars to the pump.

According to WXII, the machine bypassed the pump’s payment system, allowing dozens of cars to pump gas for free, stealing more $1,600 worth of fuel.

“Once they bypass the pump, they don’t have to do anything. Flip the nozzle up, choose the grade and start filling,” Bizzy Bee owner Hardik Patel said. “And it doesn’t stop. They can fill up as much as they want. And we ended up finding about 398 gallons on the check.”

Video shows as many as 15 different cars filling up for free over a 45 minute stretch.

Police have yet to make an arrest but say the investigation is ongoing.
