A woman is in custody after an hours-long standoff at a McDonald’s restaurant in Orlando
A woman is in custody after a near six hour-long standoff at a McDonald’s in Orlando.Deputies responded to an armed robbery call at the McDonald’s on South Orange Blossom Trail near Holden Avenue at 10:35 p.m. Saturday. They say the woman, who the Sheriff’s Office says is in her 30s, fired a handgun from inside the restaurant and made threatening statements. Deputies returned fire. No one was hurt. All employees and customers were able to get out safely. The woman surrendered around 4:45 a.m. and was taken into custody.The three deputies involved are now on paid administrative leave as an investigation gets underway.
