Due to supply chain issues and a cream cheese shortage, cheesecake fans may not be able to enjoy their favorite dessert during the holidays.
But one company is making that burden a little easier.
Kraft Heinz, the parent company behind Philadelphia Cream Cheese, announced it is offering a $20 reimbursement to 18,000 customers willing to have something other than cheesecake for dessert this year.
“You bake it, we’ll buy it,” Kraft Heinz said in a YouTube video about the promotion. “Or get it store bought, pretend you baked it and we’ll buy that too.”
The cream cheese shortage has hit bagel shops hard, even as Kraft Heinz is “maximizing our production to meet unprecedented demand,” according to USA Today.
“For the past 150 years, Philadelphia Cream Cheese has been a staple in American households, especially around the holidays,” marketing director Basak Oguz said in a statement. “As we continue to see elevated and sustained demand, we want to want to ensure that there’s enough cream cheese for bagels, cheesecakes, and everything in-between.”
To get a chance at the $20 digital reward, you must visit SpreadTheFeeling.com starting at noon EST on Friday. There will be 10,000 reservations available on Friday and 8,000 additional spots starting at noon EST on Saturday.
But (of course) there’s a catch.
Those who reserve a slot will have to submit a store or restaurant receipt, dated between Dec. 17 and Dec. 24, with a dessert or dessert ingredient to qualify.
Customers who have received the confirmation of their reservation will receive a unique link to submit the receipt starting Dec. 28 at 9 a.m. until Jan. 4 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
The digital rewards will be sent within the next two to four weeks, according to the terms and conditions.
“No matter if you spend $10 or $40, you will still receive the $20 digital reward with your validated proof of purchase,” the company said in the fine print.
