RDU to begin offering international flights to Iceland in May – WRAL News

— Raleigh-Durham International Airport will soon offer international flights to Iceland.

Icelandair will transport passengers to Reykjavik, Iceland, a tourist destination that also serves as a midway point between North America and Europe.

Flights will be offered four times a week from May to October on a 160-seat Boeing 737MAX 8. Travelers will be provided with nonstop connections to more than 25 destinations in the United Kingdom, Scandinavia and Continental Europe.

Icelandair will be the airport’s 12th airline when it launches next year. The new trip is the first international route added at RDU since 2019, when Air Canada launched service to Montreal.

Introductory fares to Iceland begin at $449.
