COVID-19 hospitalizations, positivity rate on the rise in Central Florida – WESH 2 Orlando

As more people test positive for COVID-19 every day, there’s also a rising number of people in Central Florida hospitals. The health care system has been keeping track of how many patients are in its Central Florida hospitals.On Monday, AdventHealth reported about 480 people hospitalized with COVID-19 across all seven counties in our viewing area.Still, this is much lower than the reported 1,700 people who were in the hospital back in August during the Delta surge.AdventHealth’s statewide seven-day rolling positivity rate is now 39% and said the increase signifies how infectious the omicron variant is.Today, the CDC also released new numbers showing nearly 40,000 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Florida yesterday.Keep in mind, the actual number of people testing positive may be much higher as this statistic does not count people who took at-home tests.
