Dr. Pepper milkshakes, anyone? Whataburger is finally opening in Colorado, set to start selling burgers at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23.
The Colorado Springs location, announced last year, will be located at 1310 Interquest Parkway. And if we have learned anything from their competitors at In-N-Out, there will be much fanfare — plus long lines — once Whataburger opens its doors.
“We’re excited to bring Whataburger’s big flavors, fresh ingredients and original recipes to Colorado,” said William Tamminga, owner of BurgerWorks, Whataburger’s franchise partner, in a news release. “We’re looking forward to growing here and being part of the community.”
The fast-food joint will have an open-concept dining room and a double-lane drive-thru. The dining room will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. — serving breakfast, lunch and dinner — and the drive-thru will be open 24 hours daily.
Additional Whataburger locations will open later this year at 6140 Dublin Blvd. and 5905 Constitution Ave. in Colorado Springs.
Whataburger first opened in Corpus Christi, Texas, in 1950 and remains headquartered in San Antonio, though it was bought out by a Chicago investment company in 2019. The chain has more than 870 locations across its 14-state footprint.
