Howard Schultz Is Back as Starbucks CEO. Here’s His To-Do List. – The Wall Street Journal

On Monday, Howard Schultz is expected to step into a familiar role—slated to lead a town hall meeting with employees of Starbucks Corp., the coffee chain he built into a neighborhood cafe across the world. For years Mr. Schultz convened forums for workers to voice opinions and vent about the business, or converse on social issues such as race relations in America.

Mr. Schultz, 68 years old, will assume the chief executive role for the third time, taking the reins from Kevin Johnson, who said he is retiring. Starbucks has said Mr. Schultz will be paid a dollar in base annual salary in the interim CEO role and serve on the company’s board. The company has said it hopes to find a permanent chief by the fall.
