Michigan’s minimum wage will jump from $9.65 per hour to $9.87 per hour on Jan. 1, 2022, as predetermined by a state law passed in 2018.
The 85% rate for minors who are 16 or 17 is also increasing from $8.20 to $8.39 per hour. Tipped minimum wage jumps from $3.67 to $3.75 per hour. One component won’t change, however – the training wage for newly hired employees 16 to 19 will stay at $4.25 per hour.
