A thankful mother has praised Starbucks staff who delivered a secret note to her daughter when a man came up to her while she was alone.
The 18-year-old woman was by herself in the evening at one of the coffee chain’s stores in Corpus Christi, in the US state of Texas, Brandy Roberson wrote in a Facebook post on Friday (local time).
“A man came up to her and started talking to her,” she said of the incident, which ABC10 reported happened last Saturday night.
“A barista handed her ‘an extra hot chocolate someone forgot to pick up’.”
Along with the post, Ms Roberson attached a photo of a Starbucks coffee cup that read: “Are you okay? Do you want us to intervene?
“If you do take the lid off the cup.”
Luckily Ms Roberson’s teenage daughter did not need help.
The 18-year-old is a high school student and was studying at the coffee shop, according to ABC10.
“She felt safe and did not remove the lid, but let them know,” the mum added in the post.
“She said the whole team was watching over her the rest of the time she was there.”
Ms Roberson thanked the staff at the Starbucks and also said she was “grateful… for people who look out for other people”.

The mother shed more light on the incident, telling ABC10: “This man came by and noticed what she was studying, and wanted to talk to her about it.
“I think he just became really animated and kind of loud about it, and she said the next thing she knew a Starbucks employee handed her a cup.”
In just 17 hours, the mother’s Facebook post has been shared 14,000 times, with more than 17,000 reactions and almost 600 comments.
“Wow! A reason to like Starbucks. Good for them!” one person wrote.
“Kudos and much respect for this Starbucks team! You are heroes,” another added.
A third social media user wrote: “WE NEED MORE OF THIS… WOMEN across the country appreciate this!!!”
