Shake Shack approved to open 1st N.J. drive-thru – NJ.com

Shake Shack is bringing another restaurant to New Jersey.

The fast-casual burger joint is planning to open a drive-thru spot in Hasbrouck Heights, according to TAPinto.

The Hasbrouck Heights Planning Board approved an application for a 2,100-square-foot building with a two-lane drive-thru. It will be at 193 Route 17 after the shuttered Mt. Fuji restaurant is demolished.

The building’s construction is expected to last about six months, according to the report.

An opening date has yet to be announced.

There are currently 12 Shake Shack locations in New Jersey, but this will be the first drive-thru. The company just opened its first drive-thru in Minnesota and plans for 10 more over the next year.

Shake Shack started as a hot dog stand in New York and has now expanded to over 255 locations nationwide.

Its menu offers 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers, chicken sandwiches and bites, crinkle cut fires, hot dogs, milkshakes and frozen custard.
