The holiday spirit is in the air in Elkridge, where a waitress received good tidings through a big tip.

Inside the Silver Diner, Marylanders are sipping on their cups of coffee or, for some, hot chocolate with extra whip — that includes Roxana Salinas.

Last week, Salinas received an early Christmas present in a tip unheard of for a $25 check.

“They put it on the side and say, ‘We’re going to give you an extra tip.’ And I saw all the cash — the hundreds, twenties, tens — and I say, ‘Are you sure this is for me?’ And they said, ‘Yes,'” Salinas said.

The tip came out to be $910.

“I started crying, I got so emotional. Very blessed. They got up and hugged me and they were crying with me saying, ‘Roxana, you make us cry.’ I said, ‘I’m sorry but this is so beautiful. You make me feel very special,'” Salinas said.

The tip came from a group of do-gooders wanting to make someone’s day brighter.

“It’s like God sent me that gift special to me. It’s like appreciation of life,” Salinas said.

Customers said it couldn’t have gone to a better server.

“She’s just so happy and bubbly all the time, it’s just great,” a regular customer said.

“She’s so giving. We just love to see her. She brightens our day when we come in,” another regular customer said.

The secret Santas told Salinas they’re not done giving. They plan to strike again somewhere this holiday season.

“Those people are angels, and just not for me, for somebody else as well,” Salinas said.

Salinas said the money came at a perfect time and that she’s using the tip to help pay rent, buy Christmas gifts and send money back to her family in El Salvador.
