Frontier Airlines expands service to eight more destinations at RDU – WRAL News

— Frontier Airlines announced details around adding eight new destinations from Raleigh-Durham International Airport on Wednesday morning.

Frontier representative Daniel Shurz led the announcement, which detailed service to eight cities such as:

  • New Orleans
  • Cincinnati
  • Detroit
  • Indianapolis
  • Islip-Long Island
  • Providence
  • Syracuse
  • New York-Hudson Valley

“Before the pandemic, we were quite successful here in Raleigh,” said Shurz. “Raleigh performed better than average for us in terms of profitability and that was a really good sign that the demand is here.”

Shurz said all of the new routes will be available by late May.

On Tuesday, it was unveiled that Avelo Airlines would be added to RDU and soon offer nonstop service to New Haven, Connecticut.

“It’s a really good indication that we are on the road to recovery,” said Michael Landguth, President and CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority.

In summer of 2018, Frontier added international destinations from RDU including Cancun, Mexico; Montego Bay, Jamaica; and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
